Heavens, it's been so long since I last posted. It's been a busy summer.
Yesterday, I joined the Secret of the Stole KAL and am really looking forward to it. It starts on Oct. 5th and I am using a merino lace weight in navy. Still need to get some beads.
We have a new dog (Ashley) & cat (Emma). Both are from the Humane Society of Bexar County. They are finally settling in.
Last weekend was the baptism for my nephew and niece. I'm going to try and figure out how to upload it either onto to here or onto YouTube.
JPB's rucksack was completed recently. I started it when I thought his Spiderman backpack had been lost in a flash flood, but luckily it wasn't. At first, he didn't like it but decided it was okay when his dad told him it was "cool". :-/
The other picture is from one of the very last cross-stitch pieces I've done. It's for one of the plethora of nieces in my extended family.
Knitting wise, I've been working on a sweater for Christmas for JPB as well as Christmas gifts for other family members. There is a "secret" project underway but I can't talk about that until after the design contest is over.

Glad to have you on board the Secret of the Stole KAL!
What sweet new pets--awesome that you got them at the Humane society--I read somewhere that most people don't buy them from animal shelters but from pet stores. When ever I think of getting a pet I always think of the shelter first.
I really ought to post a pic of my cat. Kittenhead is HUGE...like a miniature panther.
And I don't know why I blamed you for getting me into the new KAL--now that I think about it maybe it was Laurel...LOL.
Hi Anne, a warm hug and pets to both Ashley and Emma! All of our pets (5 cats plus one baby-sitting Siamese, one arthritic dog - age 17 and a Bearded Dragon named Liz (for Lizard; how creative - lol), have come to us or are from our local Shelter. I think the ones who need love the most tend to give love the most. (And now I have to see Laurel's cat Kittenhead! Where's the pic?!?) Anne, I adore the baby bonnet. My DD's best friend is due in less than 3 weeks and I want to make hats to go with the "baby blanket that won't end"...where might I find the pattern for that bonnet? Is it knit or crochet? Do let me know...I'll be back to read more - post often!
Vykky,
The bonnet, booties and matching cardigan (not made) are from 2007 Knitting Pattern-A-Day Calendar June 16 & 17th. They are quick knits. I used LusterSheen on size 4 needles. I guess I really need to list that with the pic. :-D
Birdy, I agree about the not enough animals getting adopted at the shelters. Because of a SNAFU on their end, we couldn't get Ashley the same day we got Emma but had to wait a day. On their adoption board the next day, they had listed 31 adoptions for the day before. Normally it's like 10-15. :-D
I think you blamed me because I talked about it first on LSSK and "dragged" Laurel into it.
